A basic style for your home

Basic interior: This style can be described as simple and chic, and can be identified by the use of durable materials, simple but good furniture and luxurious finishes. This basic style isn’t just IKEA!

Beach interior

When you think of a beach-style interior, you think of a setting that exudes peace and tranquillity. Think big windows with white curtains that are blowing to and fro in the wind. Think light colours, such as whites and sandy shades. On the floor we suggest white wooden floorboards that have been sanded lightly. You could also use bleached or brushed laminate to achieve that true seaside sense of living.

Classical interior

When we say classical, we mean rich, warm, glamorous and sophisticated. This style of interior design is characterised by an elegant look, featuring many classical elements in baroque and boudoir-like design. Beautiful chandeliers and shiny, ornate details are one way to go, or you could opt for a subtler approach with glossy black lamps and dark grey velvet. Nowadays, you also have “minimal classic” based on pure, authentic materials, grand gestures and subdued colours.   Whichever style you prefer, a classical interior always has a certain compelling sense of richness and sophistication.

Colonial interior

A colonial style of interior design references elements dating back to the 16th century. That’s when the first overseas colonies were established, introducing new styles of furniture in Europe. This style of home decoration is characterised by large, heavy furniture.

Cool lounge interior

Cool lounge: If you want to turn your home into a haven of peace and comfort that invites you to relax on sofas with big cushions and soft rugs, then you should go for this style! ”Lounge” means to stroll, lie around, or relax – and this is reflected by the furniture and decorations in the room.

Country cottage interior

For a country cottage interior, you should picture a colourful, cheerful style. Its atmosphere is characterised by painted and/or decorated furniture with graceful lines, textured elements like baskets, bead-board walls and natural fibres and carpets. Imagine weathered finishes and colours that could have sprung directly from an exuberant flower garden.

Industrial interior

If a rugged, functional, pure style suits you, then an industrial interior may be your best choice. This interior design style is characterised by a spacious design with a strong, confident tone. An “industrial” style may sound misleading, since it’s easy to associate it with rough, cold materials. But a pleasant living atmosphere can also be created with elements such as glass, stainless steel, brick, concrete, aluminium, wood and leather.

Mediterranean interior

The roots of a Mediterranean setting are situated in southern Europe, along the coast of the Mediterranean Sea: in Italy, Spain, Greece, southern France and Turkey. In such close proximity to the sea, the dominant colours in this style are blue and white. Other recurring colours include that come back often are orange and red, reminiscent of terracotta pottery and ceramic tiling. Other Mediterranean colours like yellow, green, lavender, purple (aubergine) and brown are inspired by nature and the mountainous landscape you see in the southern European countries.

Nature interior

A decorative wooden ladder as an unusual bookcase, a terrarium, lots of wood and stone: It’s all in the spirit of Nature! Animals symbolise nature, so if you have pet birds, you might want to put a large wrought-iron bird cage in the living room as a dramatic gesture. The see-through effect creates a more spacious visual impression, and the birds contribute to the natural ambiance.

Oriental interior

To give your home an Oriental flavour, you don’t necessarily need to work with Buddhas and incense. Chinese Feng Shui and Japanese minimalism will fill your home with Asian flair! With the right accessories, materials and furniture, this style will express itself in harmony and balance. The key to harmony and balance is a conscious use of the available space and incorporation of natural materials such as stone, wood and bamboo. The Oriental style is very pure, exuding a sense of calm, and is closely associated with the four traditional elements: air, fire, water, earth. In addition to these elements, which are easily applied in your home, you can use various shades of grey, white and black combined with accents in brown, red, purple and green.

Romantic interior

No matter where you live – in a city apartment, on a farm or in a newly built house – the basic elements of a romantic style of interior design can be used anywhere.  Vibrant colours and lush floral motifs show us that the romantic interior is back in style. Wooden floors reflect nature, while carpeting symbolises softness. A peaceful, subtle impression is the basis for a romantic interior. The basic colour for every room is neutral, supplemented by decorative shapes and a striking palette of accent colours, like pink, purple and sky blue in large patterns. The room has a dreamy atmosphere and feels cosy and relaxing. Candles and flowers enhance the romantic impression in your home.

Tribal Africa interior

When you think of Africa, you think of the beautiful nature, the colonial culture and the warm sun setting over the spacious horizon! You can bring all these elements into your home in different ways by working with natural materials like stone, reeds, wood, linen and bronze. These materials are not only rich in colour, but also add texture to your interior. The rich and colourful cultures of the African continent are an excellent inspiration for the interior design of your home! For a modern African interior, you can paint the walls in a light but warm colour and add decorative touches with natural materials and more eye-catching colours such as yellow ochre, brown or burnt orange.
